The Beauty of Materials Knows No Gender | Why ๅ’Œ็„ถ โ€“ ๐–๐€๐’๐‡๐ˆ๐Š๐€ โ€“ Is Becoming a Unisex Brand

The Beauty of Materials Knows No Gender.

ๅ’Œ็„ถ โ€“ ๐–๐€๐’๐‡๐ˆ๐Š๐€ โ€“ is a Japanese bag brand that combines handmade Mino washi paper with cowhide leather, crafted in Gifu Prefecture, Japan.

Today, we are taking a new step forwardโ€” as a unisex brand.

Where We Started

The parent company behind ๅ’Œ็„ถ โ€“ ๐–๐€๐’๐‡๐ˆ๐Š๐€ โ€“, TG Co., Ltd., has long specialized in crafting women's leather bags.

Building on that foundation, WASHIKA was originally launched with women as our primary audience.

What Washi Taught Us

As we continued to work with washi paper, something became clear.

The beauty of this material is not meant for one gender alone.

Each sheet of handmade washi carries its own natural ripple patternโ€” no two are alike, giving every bag an expression found nowhere else in the world.

Paired with cowhide leather that deepens in luster over time, the bag evolves differently in every person's hands, quietly growing more beautiful with use.

That transformation does not depend on the gender of the person carrying it.

The lightness of washi, its texture, its character that deepens over timeโ€” these are qualities we want everyone to experience, regardless of gender.

Not a Trend. An Answer From the Materials Themselves.

Our move toward unisex is not about following a trend.

It comes from a desire to honestly deliver what ๅ’Œ็„ถ โ€“ ๐–๐€๐’๐‡๐ˆ๐Š๐€ โ€“ bags have always been:ย bags that naturally fit in anyone's hands.

The beauty of materials knows no gender.

This is not something we learned from the market. It is something washi and leather taught us through years of working with them.

For Everyone Who Embraces Beauty

Lightness. Flexibility. A beauty that deepens with time.

We will continue to deliver the harmony of washi and leatherโ€” beyond the boundaries of gender,ย to everyone who embraces beauty.

In our next article, we'll explore the differences between "unisex," "gender-neutral," and "genderless"โ€” three terms that are often confused but carry distinct meanings.
