Introducing Our Collaborator

Hello, everyone. Today, we would like to introduce an important collaborator who is indispensable to our brand. She is a craftsperson who trained as a washi artisan in Mino and later became independent to create her own original washi. In this article, we would like to shine a light on her remarkable work.

She was not born in Mino. She stepped into the world of washi made in Mino on her own, devoted herself to training as an artisan, and cultivated both technical skill and a refined sensibility. By deeply understanding the tradition and beauty embedded in washi, she has drawn attention through her own distinctive approach to the craft.

After becoming independent, she began creating original washi of her own. The handmade washi used in our bags is also specially made to order by her. The extra-thick washi designed specifically for bags reflects her unique dedication and care. These qualities give our bags their distinctive texture and durability.

She is an indispensable collaborator in our craftsmanship. The washi she creates brings unique value to our products and plays an important role in shaping the identity of WASHIKA. Our collaboration with her is based on trust and mutual respect, and goes far beyond a simple business transaction.

She is one of the collaborators who supports the unique appeal of WASHIKA bags. We deeply respect her craftsmanship and passion, and we look forward to continuing to explore new possibilities for washi together. We also hope to continue meeting wonderful partners like her as our brand moves forward.

We are sincerely grateful to this important collaborator, and we are delighted to share her story with you. We hope you will continue to enjoy discovering the world of WASHIKA.
